Lanes closed on QEW due to ongoing Niagara police investigation

An ongoing police investigation has closed down lanes on the QEW today (July 4).
Niagara police reported at 8:52 p.m. that due to an investigation on the Garden City Skyway, the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW are closed until further notice. The Fort Erie bound lanes are reduced to one lane.
The details of the investigation have not been disclosed by police at this time.
Residents are asked to take other routes. More information to come.
