UPDATE: Police said all northbound lanes on Highway 410 in Mississauga, approaching Highway 407, have reopened to traffic as of late Monday afternoon. Injuries as a result of an earlier three-car collision have been determined to be non-life-threatening, according to police. (Earlier story appears below)

Traffic is backed up on northbound Highway 410 in Mississauga after a three-car crash on Monday afternoon, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said the collision involving three passenger vehicles has closed multiple lanes on the busy highway approaching Highway 407, leaving one northbnound right lane open.

Injuries were being assessed in the wake of the crash, which occurred at around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

Emergency crews remain on the scene.

Police didn’t say what may have caused the collision.

OPP said motorists should be aware of the traffic slowdowns in the area and use alternate routes.
