QEW lane and ramp closures in Mississauga.

In addition to several nighttime/overnight lane closures planned through the end of next week on the QEW in Mississauga, a handful of on- and off-ramps will be shut down to drivers as well as major repair work continues on the highway bridge over the Credit River.

Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project overseeing the major bridge rehabilitation work say a pair of eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes between Erin Mills Parkway and Hurontario Street will close Sunday through Thursday nights and overnights until May 3.

One of the eastbound lanes will shut down from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning while the second lane will close between midnight and 5 a.m., according to project leaders. One westbound lane will close from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. while the second will shut down from midnight to 5 a.m.

Additionally, the following QEW ramps will be fully closed from midnight until 5 a.m. on these nights:

  • QEW eastbound off-ramp to South Sheridan Way — April 29
  • QEW eastbound on-ramp from South Sheridan Way — April 30
  • QEW westbound on-ramp from Hurontario Street — May 1
  • QEW westbound off-ramp to Mississauga Road — May 2
  • QEW westbound on-ramp from Mississauga Road — May 3

Temporary nighttime/overnight closures and other restrictions have been commonplace since 2022 both on the QEW and nearby roads due to the massive bridge project that began nearly three years ago.

More traffic disruptions are anticipated as work continues in the coming weeks and months. Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario Street to Mississauga Road, and beyond, is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
