Knifepoint gas station robbery in Oshawa results in charges

A man faces several charges after allegedly robbing an Oshawa gas station at knifepoint.
Durham Regional Police responded to the Esso Gas Station at 20 Park Rd. S. shortly after 3 a.m. on March 22 after reports of a robbery.
They claim a man entered the Esso and pulled a knife on the cashier. He allegedly grabbed a case of lottery tickets and fled the store before police showed up.
The officers called in a K-9 unit to track the man. The dog led officers to a nearby home where they arrested a suspect. The cashier was not hurt.
Nathan Paddock, 36 of Oshawa, is charged with several offences;
- robbery,
- disguise with intent,
- possession of a weapon to commit an offence,
- possess of stolen property under $5,000,
- two counts of possession of identity information, and
- two counts of failure to comply with a probation order
He remains in custody until a bail hearing.
