Kitten stolen from pet store leads to pleas for safe return in Brampton
Pet rescuers are pleading for the safe return of a 10-week-old kitten named Oz who was stolen from a store in Brampton on July 9, 2025.

Pet rescuers are pleading for the safe return of a 10-week-old kitten named Oz who was stolen from a store in Brampton.

All For Love Cat Rescue says the theft happened on Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. at the Pet Valu on West Drive near Queen Street East.

That’s when a man “put the kitten in a bag and walked out of the store.”

Rescuers say the suspect “robbed this kitten from the adoption process” and it is “urgent” that Oz be returned. Rescuers are pleading with the suspect to bring Oz back to the store with “no questions asked” and are asking the public for help finding the kitten.

Peel Regional Police confirmed to INsauga.com that officers are investigating the theft, and All For Love Cat Rescue has shared images of the suspect on social media.

The suspect was wearing a dark beanie around his head, a black shirt with white writing and baggy grey jogging pants at the time of the theft, rescuers say.

He also had yellow cat-eye contacts in.

Anyone with information about the suspect can contact Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311 or Pet Valu at 905-458-0915. You can visit All For Love Cat Rescue on Facebook, and anonymous tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.
