Two mainstays of the Canadian music scene will take the stage and at an annual community festival this weekend.
Kerrfest takes place at Westwood Park in Oakville starting tomorrow, Sept. 5 and running through Sunday, Sept. 7.
The first two days will include live musical entertainment with Mitchell taking the stage on Friday followed by the Jim Cuddy Band on Saturday. Both shows start at 9:30 p.m. During the days there will be local food vendors and booths sponsored by local businesses.
Festival hours are 5:30 p.m. until after the concert on Friday; and from noon until after the concert on Saturday.
Other musical guests during the weekend include Spoons, The Box, Tianna Woods, The Lightfoot Band, Andrew Irving, Rawlins Cross and Bill Durst.
On Sunday, Kerrfest is dedicated to families and children starting at 11 a.m. with activities that include Crash Rhythem and the Roaming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gabby’s Cat-Tastic Dance Part, Mystic Drumz and music by the DNAs.
Brampton Batman and his batmobile will also be make an appearance on Sunday as will face painting and other events for kids.
There is an admission fee to attend the park which is located at Kerr Street and Bond Street.
