Milton Transit library read free ride

A program that allows local youth to ride Milton buses for free is returning this summer.

The annual Read and Ride program is a partnership between Milton Transit and the Milton Public Library.

Through the program, youth ages 16 and under can ride Milton Transit for free, from June 22 to Aug. 31, by showing their validated library card to the bus driver upon boarding.

Transit validation stickers will be available for free at all Milton Public Library branches starting June 22. Participants are required to place the validation sticker on their Milton Public Library card.

A program kick-off celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at the Main Library, 1010 Main St. E., from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.

Residents can take part in fun activities, receive their validation stickers and participate in a scavenger hunt on a Milton Transit bus parked outside the library.
