Brampton’s Canada Day celebrations return this year with food, fireworks and a star-studded line up of live music.

After two years of virtual and drive-though events, the City of Brampton will celebrate Canada’s birthday in style and in-person this year on July 1 in Chinguacousy Park.

Canadian rapper, record producer and DJ Kardinal Offishall will headline the night’s festivities which will also feature B.C.-based Indigenous rappers Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and Roberta Battaglia – the Toronto teen who made waves with a Golden Buzzer win on America’s Got Talent in 2020.

The night of music will be hosted by Jesse Jones, son of late Canadian-Jamaican actor, music industry icon and co-founder of Jones & Jones Productions Denise Jones.

The event will run from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature a host of family friendly events and activities from mini-golf, paddle boat rentals, an inflatable fun zone, splash pad and playgrounds, carousel and much more.

There will also be plenty of local food and vendors for guests to get a taste of what the city has to offer, and to close out the event the city is putting on a fireworks show presented by Tim Hortons.
