Lovers of Pakistani street food and traditional Karahi’s may find that the current offerings in Mississauga are, unfortunately, few and far between.

Thankfully, that’s about to change.

Restaurant chain Karahi Point, which notably introduced freshly prepared Karahi to Canada in 2014 (when there was no concept of serving fresh food directly from the stove to customers in Toronto), has now opened a brand new restaurant in Mississauga.

Back in 2014, restaurant owner Adil Iqbal wondered if he and his family could recreate the memory of the culture they came from in Canada. This led to the creation of the first Karahi Point, located at 2642 Islington Avenue (Etobicoke, M9V 2X5) – a restaurant dedicated to authentic and high quality Pakistani food.

Since its first day, Iqbal had the vision to expand the franchise with more locations and eventually bring Karahi Point to a point where it needed no introduction. With the support of a loyal customer base, they later opened a second, bigger location at 2201 Finch Avenue West (North York, M9M 2Y9).

On December 5, a third Karahi Point location was opened at 6905 Millcreek Drive (L5N 6A3) in Mississauga, near the intersection of Millcreek and Derry Road West.

For those who haven’t tried it before, Karahi refers to traditional eastern cuisine cooked in a deep circular pot known as the Karahi, which is often used in countries such as Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan.

Karahi Point continues to strive for excellence and maintain its reputation for preserving the exact tastes and flavours that you would find in Pakistan.

Of course, they couldn’t have gotten this far without an extensive and crowd-pleasing menu that offers a selection of curries, barbecue dishes, rice, bread, dessert and more.

Some of Karahi Point’s most popular offerings include the Chicken Karahi, Goat Peshawari Karahi (an Asian-style dish of chicken or other meat cooked with ginger garlic paste, fresh diced tomatoes, and secret spices), and their barbecue Chicken Tikka, Beef Bihari, and Seekh Kebab.

Their lunch combos feature popular items such as Butter Chicken, Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala and more, all served with rice, naan, or raita.

The restaurant also offers a variety of takeout combos that includes all the menu items as mentioned above.

There’s something for everyone at Karahi Point – the menu is entirely halal and includes multiple vegetarian curry dishes such as Paneer karahi, daal makhni, and lahori chana (chickpeas) for non-meat-eaters.

Karahi Point locations have a nice and cozy ambiance which helps you experience the feel and touch of Pakistan’s rich culture, rejuvenating its taste and culture together.

Interested in having an event catered? Karahi Point offers catering for groups of at least 30 guests, which is available via takeout or delivery.

Alternatively, you can book an event at the restaurant itself where a section can be reserved for 25 to 220 guests, making it perfect for any social gathering from the smallest dinner events to the biggest parties.

Whether it’s the food, atmosphere, or the rich history, look no further than Karahi Point if you’re searching for a new Mississauga Pakistani restaurant to try.
