Chalk one up for the good boy. A hot dog, but still a good boy.

PC Dunlop and K9 Taz teamed up with Durham Regional Police’s Central West Division were tracking a lone man wanted for a domestic-related assault in “extremely hot and difficult conditions” Tuesday in Whitby.

After a one kilometre search and with the sun beating down on both of them, the chances of success were looking slimmer by the minute. But K9 Taz, still looking like he had pace for days, sniffed out the suspect trying to conceal himself under a tree.

The suspect is now in custody and Taz got to enjoy a bowl of water (and possibly a small steak) for his efforts.
