Just eight new COVID-19 cases today in Niagara Region

The Niagara Region reported just eight new cases of COVID-19, a significant drop from yesterday’s 22 new cases.

With nine cases resolved, that drops the region slightly to 152 ongoing cases.

Presently, there are seven people in Niagara hospitals being treated, five of them in the ICU. Two of the hospitalized are fully-vaccinated.

St. Catharines continues to be the caseload leader with 58 while Niagara Falls has 32. Both Fort Erie and Grimsby remains in double-digits for cases with 13 and 12 respectively.

The remaining eight municipalities remain between just two cases in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Pelham swinging up to eight cases in both Thorold and Welland.
