June 25 weather: Thunderstorm risk a cooler temperatures in southern Ontario

Thursday’s forecast calls for showers, a risk of thunderstorms and a high below 20 C in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the morning will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

The afternoon will bring a risk of thunderstorms across the GTA with 20 km/h winds. The daytime high will be around 17 C with a UV index of 5 or “moderate,” the weather agency says.

Thursday night is expected to be cloudy with another 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms in the evening. The overnight low will be steady at 16 C.

Friday could bring more showers to Mississauga with a 30 per cent chance during the day. The high will be around 24 C with a low of around 13 C.
