warm and cloudy skies with rain in southern Ontario

After a mostly sunny week, southern Ontario is set for a warm, cloudy day with a likely chance of rain.

For those who appreciate gazing at a colourful morning sky, sunrise will be at 5:35 a.m. today— nearly 10 minutes earlier than last week.

Residents in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton and Durham will wake up to mainly cloudy skies with a 60 per cent of rain.

Temperatures will rise to a consistent 20 C in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, and Hamilton, with the Durham region expected to be slightly warmer at 21 C.

The UV index is anticipated to reach a high level of six in Halton, Hamilton, and Durham, while Mississauga and Brampton will see a moderate level of five. Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the UV index is three or higher, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., even on cloudy days.

Additionally, Health Canada says that if outdoors, individuals should seek shade, wear protective clothing and hats, apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, avoid tanning, and use UV-protective sunglasses.

Sunset will begin at 8:52 p.m.

In the evening, southern Ontario will experience partly cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures across all cities will drop by seven degrees to 14 C.

The rest of the week promises humid conditions with periods of rain. Daytime temperatures will range from 19 C to 27.  Nights won’t be much cooler, with lows only dipping between 14 C and 18 C.

The second week of June seems to bring little to no rain and plenty of sunshine, with spring temperatures ranging from 20 C to 23 C.
