June 17 weather: Thunderstorms and showers possible in southern Ontario

Wednesday could bring showers with a risk of thunderstorms to the Greater Toronto Area and across southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the morning will see a mix of sun and clouds followed by a 30 per cent chance of showers in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

A south wind blowing around 20 km/h could gust up to around 40 km/h. The daytime high will be around 22 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like 27 C due to the humidity.

Wednesday night is expected to be cloudy with evening showers across the GTA and a risk of thunderstorms overnight. Wind gusts could hit up to 60 km/h overnight with a low of around 15 C.

Thursday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies in Mississauga with 60 percent chance of showers and a high of 23 C. Conditions are expected to be windy with a low of 13 C.
