June 13 Weather: Humid, windy day with risk of thunderstorms ahead for southern Ontario

You might want to keep that umbrella handy if you plan to head out Thursday afternoon (July 13) in Mississauga and across southern Ontario.

The day will start with a mix of sun and clouds, but showers are expected to roll in beginning late in the afternoon, according to the latest weather forecast by Environment Canada.

There will be a 60 percent chance of showers with a risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will be southwest at 30 km/hr gusting up to 50 km/hr in the morning.

A high of 28 degrees Celsius is expected with a humidex of 33. The UV index is 9 or very high.

Shower and/or thunderstorms will end after midnight. Skies will remain partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers overnight. Wind will be west at 40 km/hr and gusting to 60 km/hr before becoming light near midnight.

An overnight low of 16 is on tap.

Sunrise will remain the same at 5:37 a.m., while we’ll gain an extra minute of daylight with the sunset coming at 9:01 p.m.
