Thursday’s temperature could feel near 40 C in the Greater Toronto Area with thunderstorms and showers possible across southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says the morning will be cloudy with a 40 per cent to 60 per cent chance of showers, followed by a risk of thunderstorms in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.
Wind gusts could hit up to 40 km/h in the late morning. The daytime high will be around 31 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like 39 C due to the humidity. Temperatures will be cooler along the lakeshore at around 25 C.
The UV index will be 9 or “very high,” the weather agency says.
Thursday night will bring partly cloudy conditions with increased cloud cover through the evening.
Wind gusts could hit up to 40 km/h in the evening with a low of around 21 C.
Looking ahead to Friday, conditions are expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers in Mississauga during the day and a high of 28 C. The evening will be clear with a low of 17 C.
