July 9 Weather: Another scorcher with chance of afternoon, evening showers in store for southern Ontario

The heat is on in Mississauga and across southern Ontario.

A heat warning continues to be in effect and Tuesday (July 9) will be another scorer, though the weather will be a little more volatile according to the latest forecast by Environment Canada.

The day will begin with a mix of sun and clouds with winds becoming west at 20 km/h later in the morning. The afternoon will bring a 40 percent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm.

You will want to make sure you have somewhere cool you can go into during the day as the high will hit 30 degrees Celsius, but the humidex will make it feel like 38 degrees Celsius.

You’ll want to make sure you have some sunscreen on if you plan to spend some time outside as the UV index will be 10 or very high.

The evening hours will offer up a 40 percent chance of showers early on. Rain will begin overnight with a risk of a thunderstorm mixed in. Winds will be west at 20 km/h becoming light in the evening.

The overnight low will be 19 degrees Celsius.

The sun will rise at 5:46 a.m. in the morning and then set in the evening at 9:01 p.m., giving us 15 hours and 15 minutes of daylight time.
