July 8 weather: High that feels near 40 C in southern Ontario

Wednesday could bring a heat wave with temperatures that could feel near 40 C in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the morning will bring a mix of sun and cloudy conditions to Toronto, with a 30 per cent chance of showers in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Oshawa.

Conditions will be mixed but are expected to clear in the late morning in Niagara Falls.

The daytime high will be around 31 C in Mississauga but could feel more like 39 C due to the humidity. The UV index will be 9 of “very high,” the weather agency says.

Wednesday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers in Mississauga, Brampton and Oshawa. The overnight low will be around 19 C.

Looking ahead to Thursday, conditions are expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers throughout the day and a high of 29 C.
