July 3 Weather: Chance of afternoon, evening showers, thunderstorm for southern Ontario

Sunny start to Wednesday to give way to chance of late afternoon showers and thunderstorm in Mississauga and across southern Ontario.

It will be another scorcher as sunny conditions in the morning give way to a mix of sun and clouds late in the afternoon according to the latest weather forecast by Environment Canada.

There will be a 40 percent chance of showers in the late afternoon with a risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will become south at 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/hr in the morning.

There will be a daytime high of 29 degrees Celsius, though it will feel more like balms 37 degrees Celsius with the humidex. The UV index will be 10 or very high.

It will be partly cloudy in the evening with a 40 percent chance of the wet stuff. There will once again be a risk of a thunderstorm in the evening.

The skies will clear up overnight, though fog patches are expected to develop through the early morning hours. Winds will be south at 30 km/hr early in the evening and then gust to 50 km/hr before settling down to 20 km/hr later during the night.

An overnight low of 18 degrees Celsius is expected.

The sun will rise at 5:42 a.m. and then set at 9:03 p.m. in the evening. In all, there will be 15 hours and 21 minutes of daylight.
