Three men convicted of manslaughter in the stabbing death of a Mississauga man will face reduced jail terms because of time already spent in custody.
The men were convicted last year for killing Heidrah Shraim, 22, during a fight near Meadowvale Town Centre in 2017.
Court records show that the incident took place at a bus terminal after a previous altercation between two groups of men.
The two groups then met up several hours later which led to the death of Shraim.
Devin Beals, 53, who the court heard delivered the fatal knife blow, was sentenced to six and half years in prison but because he has already served three years behind bars, will now serve out the rest of his term for 14 months.
Clive Walters, 27, was handed a two-year sentence and will now serve six months due to previous time served. The court determined that Walters assisted and encouraged Beals
Alexander Buckland, now 31, was also given a two-year sentence but has been released because of previous time served in custody.
In the earlier court case it was heard that in the first altercation, Shraim attacked and injured Beals which prompted the later second fight that resulted in Shraim’s death.
