Now in its 40th year, the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights is already one of the most colourful seasonal displays in all of Ontario. Now it’s about to get a little more jolly.

For the next four weekends, Santa Claus himself will be popping in for a free photo session for all families.

Sponsored by Ontario Power Generation, the Santa Meet & Greet will be happening at the Frosted Falls at Queen Victoria Place (6345 Niagara Parkway) on December 3, 10, 17, 18, and 23 from 6 pm to 8 pm each night.

The Meet & Greet will also feature a Giant Gingerbread House and Family, Sequoia Tree, Elf, Candy Canes and more fun for all ages.

The Winter Festival of Lights will continue until February 20, 2023, featuring over three million lights and more tan 75 spectacular displays that transform Niagara Falls into a winter wonderland. D

“Drive or bundle up and walk through new displays and themed illumination areas, including the Royal Promenade, Frosted Falls, Enchanted Forest, and Great Canadian North with downloadable maps for planning,” says Niagara Falls Tourism.

Some of the free indoor family entertainment features top children’s performers on weekends and throughout the December holiday period. From magicians and musicians to juggler and face painters, the Festival’s indoor entertainment runs every weekend Friday and Saturday.

Families can also visit the Crowne Plaza Fallsview Hotel for a full schedule of live performers and head to the Americana Waterpark Resort & Spa for face painters, balloon twisters, glitter tattoos and more.

Here’s a taste of some of the sights you’ll see at the festival.
