Joint drug investigation in SS Marie leads to arrest of people from Pickering, Brampton

A joint drug trafficking investigation between police services in Sault Ste. Marie, Durham Region and Thunder Bay has led to the arrest of five people and the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine, a large quantity of cash and a stolen vehicle.

The investigation went from between September 2022 and January 2023 with officers executing two search warrants in Sault Ste. Marie, one search warrant in Whitby and one in Oshawa on January 16.

Two people from Brampton were arrested, as well as one each from Pickering, Toronto and Sault Ste. Marie:

  • Richard Anderson, 41, from Pickering is charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and three counts of possession of stolen property
  • Oshane Davis-Forbes, 25, of Brampton is charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and four counts of fail to comply
  • Tequar Jones, 18, of Brampton is charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of stolen property
  • Maurice Fidd, 25, of Toronto is also charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of stolen property
  • Leyla Ibrahim, 22, of Sault Ste. Marie is charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and two counts of possession of stolen property

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service acknowledged its partners in the investigation, as well as the support of the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario.
