Three suspects were arrested last night following a smash-and-grab theft at a jewelry store inside Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre.

Peel Regional Police stated that suspects, armed with hammers, entered a store at Square One shortly before 9 p.m., coinciding with the mall’s closing time. The thieves reportedly smashed display cases and fled with merchandise.

Shortly after, officers and mall security caught the thieves and stopped them from escaping.

Authorities say one man and two young offenders were taken into police custody and face robbery-related charges.

Officials have not yet released images or further details about the suspects including their names, ages, or places of residence.

Additionally, police have not disclosed the name of the targeted business or the estimated damages and value of the stolen jewelry.

A similar incident involving six suspects took place a day earlier (May 9) at a jewelry store at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga.

“The Central Robbery Bureau, alongside Criminal Investigations Bureau, is investigating both matters to determine if they’re related and if any suspects are outstanding,” Cst. Ty Bell-Morena of Peel Regional Police said in a recent video posted on X (formerly Twitter.)
