A Japanese-style hotdog franchise is opening a restaurant in Mississauga.
Japadog, which specializes in hotdogs with Japanese flavours, will open a location in Square One Shopping Centre in November.
“We’re opening our 3rd Japadog location at Square One, Mississauga late November,” the company posted on Instagram.
The new Square One location will be in Food Central between Jimmy the Greek and Taco Bell.
The two other GTA locations are at 509 Yonge St. (near Wellesley Street) and in The Well, 486 Front St. W., in Toronto.
The chain serves unique hotdog pairings, including yakisoba, teriyaki tartar and avocado shrimp dogs. In addition to pork and beef hotdogs, there is a full menu of veggie dogs. Japadog also serves takoyaki (octopus), fries, poutine, soup and grilled corn.
Noriki Tamura opened the first Japadog stand in Vancouver in January 2005. The Tamura family was new to Canada and were looking for new opportunities.
“After leaving everything behind in Japan, we started our new journey of hotdog business, and have met thousands of great people and partners along the way,” Tamura said on the website. “With much support and grateful opportunities, our stores have slowly grown.”
The exact opening date of the Square One location hasn’t been announced yet.
