Don’t put away the shorts and t-shirts quite yet — it’s expected to reach 33 C with the humidex in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and beyond.

It’s October, usually a time for pumpkin spice and sweaters but summer is not done yet.

The temperature could reach 32 C today (Oct. 2) with the humidex (26 C without the humidex) and 33 C tomorrow in much of southern Ontario, according to Environment Canada.

Sunny skies are expected for tomorrow and Wednesday. The temperature will stay warm on Wednesday with a high of 26 C.

The average high for this time of year is 17 C, Environment Canada notes. And the highest temperature for Oct. 2 was 28.9 C in 1971 in Hamilton, the lowest was -3.3 C in 1974 in Mississauga.

The warm weather is not expected to last for the Thanksgiving weekend. The temperature highs are expected to drop to 14 C on Saturday and 12 C on Sunday. There is also a chance of rain on the weekend.
