It will feel like 34 C before rain moves into southern Ontario this week

Warm and humid conditions are expected to dominate southern Ontario this week, with temperatures climbing into the upper 20s and feeling as hot as 34 C,

Here’s what the weather will look like for the week of July 5 to July 11:


Sunday night will be mainly cloudy with an overnight low of 17 C.

Monday will remain mainly cloudy with a high of 26 C, although the humidex will make it feel more like 34 C. Winds will strengthen to 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h during the afternoon.

The UV index will reach a very high 8. Environment Canada recommends taking precautions when the UV index reaches 3 or higher, including wearing sunscreen, sunglasses and protective clothing while limiting prolonged sun exposure during peak afternoon hours.

Monday night will see skies clear as winds become light. Temperatures will dip to 16 C.

Tuesday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with a daytime high of 27 C. Clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures falling to 17 C.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, bringing a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 29 C. Cloudy periods will develop overnight as temperatures fall to 19 C.

Thursday will be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 29 C. Cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of rain continue overnight with a low of 16 C.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 27 C. Skies will clear overnight as temperatures slip to a cool 14 C.

Saturday will wrap up the week with sunny skies and a high of 27 C. Overnight temperatures will remain on the warm side, with a low near 20 C.
