It could be a green Christmas this year for Mississauga, Brampton and southern Ontario

Christmas is right around the corner, but it may not be the white Christmas many are hoping for in Mississauga and most of southern Ontario.

This week’s weather forecast is calling for mostly fair weather and near-seasonal temperatures, with a chance of flurries throughout the week except Wednesday.

Despite the snow, a white Christmas isn’t guaranteed. Whether it’s a green or white Christmas will come down to the wire, according to the Weather Network.

“We are closely watching a system that will approach our region during Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day. At this point it looks like this system will bring rain to our region, but there is still some uncertainty in the forecast since this is still nearly a week away,” says the Weather Network.

If the current forecast is accurate, the rain will wash away any remaining snow by Christmas, especially for Niagara region.

Otherwise, there’s still a chance for a white Christmas, but we won’t know for sure until later in the week.
