International festival of puppetry and animation to be held in Mississauga

A unique festival which celebrates the art of puppetry is coming soon to Mississauga.

Puppet Festival Mississauga, which was formerly known as the Bridges Festival, is an international festival of Puppetry and Animation presented by the Crane Creations Theatre Company.

The festival will take place all over the City of Mississauga over a seven-day period during March Break (Mar. 8 to 15, 2023).

Puppet Festival Mississauga aims to “connect professional puppeteers from around the world and bridge cultures through one of the oldest and most common art forms.”

This year, the community can expect exciting shows, engaging workshops and an informative exhibition all of which discover the art of puppetry.

“We celebrate traditional forms of puppetry and the skills of the puppet designers and performers while expanding the conversation of what is puppetry and animation and how it touches the contemporary world,” reads the event’s website.

The festival will feature a variety of shows and performances that will be suitable for all ages.
