If you haven’t already gotten a chance to play around with one of these new art installations, you may want to visit Garden Square in downtown Brampton before they’re gone.

Called Roseaux, the installations are composed of six massive “reeds” rising into the sky. They can be activated by stepping on the sensors, which sends a myriad of different colours up the stem depending on how quickly the sensors are being stepped on.

“This starts a fun and exciting race to the top, punctuated by a vibrant soundscape in a perfect synchrony of light and sound to create an energizing sensory experience,” says Downtown Brampton BIA.

The installations were added to Garden Square in January and made by 1ToMn, a Quebec-based company that designs interactive installations made to animate public spaces.

Additionally, a contest organized by Downtown Brampton BIA is calling on residents to post a photo or video of their experience with Roseaux for a chance to win $100 redeemable at downtown Brampton businesses.

If you want to check the installations out, do so soon as they’re only here until Feb. 23.
