Intense blaze blankets Hamilton neighbourhood in smoke

Hamilton firefighters have been busy battling a downtown blaze on Friday. Smoke can be seen billowing over the Landsdale neighbourhood.

A large section of Landsdale is blanketed in smoke after a fire broke out at a home in Hamilton’s downtown core.
The blaze broke out Friday morning at 69 Century St., near the corner of Wentworth and Wilson streets.

Roads in the area are closed.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to take alternate routes.
The Hamilton Fire Department tweeted at 9:57 a.m. that operations would continue “for an extended period of time.”
Officials did not provide information regarding injuries.
