A celebration of Indigenous culture, music and community is set to take over Celebration Square on June 21 for National Indigenous Peoples Day 2026.
The free evening event will feature performances, cultural programming and family-friendly activities, highlighted by a headline performance from Tia Wood, whose contemporary R&B sound and soulful vocals have helped establish her as one of the country’s rising Indigenous artists.
Organizers say the event will bring together traditional and contemporary Indigenous performances, showcasing everything from hand drumming and round dance traditions to hip-hop and electronic music.
The celebration will be hosted by Indigenous youth advocate and content creator Kairyn Potts alongside local artist MR. SAUGA.
Programming is being presented in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with an opening performance from DJ Kookum and Qattuu, followed by a sacred smudging ceremony and official opening at 5:25 p.m.
At 6:10 p.m., the Manitou Mkwa Singers will take the stage with hand drum and round dance performances before MR. SAUGA performs at 6:55 p.m.
Tia Wood closes out the night with an 8 p.m. performance.
In addition to live entertainment, visitors can browse handcrafted goods, jewelry and artwork at an Indigenous artisan marketplace. Families can also enjoy the fountain area, which will be open throughout the day and evening.
