A renowned Indian street food restaurant ‘Chaska’ is set to open its doors at 4 Newton Ave, Hamilton.

The name ‘Chaska,’ which translates to “obsession” in English, encapsulates the passion, restaurant owner, Naveen Seth, has for the street food he encountered during his childhood travels across various Indian cities.

“These trips were a feast for the senses.”

“The authentic street food experience that I remember as a young boy is brought to life for you at Chaska,” Seth said on the eatery’s website.

The highlight is their selection of ‘Khati rolls,’ where kebabs/veggies are wrapped in warm roti and sauces.

Rice bowls and salads with an Indian twist are also available, providing a fusion of tastes.

With a plethora of street food options to choose from, including chaat, samosas, and poutines, Seth takes immense pride in their ‘secret’ Samosa recipe.

“Our recipe originates from the Seth family matriarch Sarla Seth, a passionate homemaker who enjoyed the company of family & friends and loved cooking delicious food for them,” according to Chaska’s website.

No Indian street food experience is complete without indulging in desserts. Chaska offers the iconic gulab jamun, rabdi bites and summer a drink known as ‘Falooda.’

While the exact launch date for Hamilton remains a mystery, ‘Chaska’ has already made a name for itself with seven locations spread across Toronto, Oakville, Mississauga, and more.
