Indian snack and dessert pop-up spot opens at Square One in Mississauga

An Indian pop-up spot has hit the Food District at Square One in Mississauga.

POPpadum is a snack and dessert spot with a vision to “showcase the range and vibrancy of Indian cuisine.”

POPpadum is best known for its range of authentic, regional dishes and fun fusion items that create a modern take on Indian food.

Started by Shreyas Nawkar in Dec. 2020, the professional Red Seal Certified chef with over a decade of experience in the Canadian restaurant industry set out to start the new business venture which is now located at 874 Yonge St. in Toronto.

Popular menu items include chicken tikka and veggie sandwiches, chettinad chicken buns, chicken kheema hand pies and more.

For those with a sweet tooth, their menu also includes items such as gulab jamun tiramisu, skrikhand cheesecake, fennel cookies and mango-saffron cheesecake.

POPpadum’s pop-up at Square One is set to feature various menu items including hand pies and cheesecake and a combination of other snack and dessert items.

The pop-up will be open from now until Feb. 7, 2023.

POPpadum’s location in Toronto is also open for takeout and delivery on most major platforms.
