The SIU says there was “an interaction” with the male driver of the vehicle and an off-duty Toronto Police Service officer.

The driver was taken to hospital and treated for serious injuries. However, the SIU did not indicate if the injuries were caused by the collision, the interaction, or both.

If anyone has video evidence related to this incident, it can be upload through the SIU website: https://siu.on.ca/en/video_uploads.php

The SIU is an independent government agency that investigates the conduct of police officers and other officials that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault, and/or the discharge of a firearm at a person.

All investigations are conducted by SIU investigators who are civilians.
