A commercial vehicle driver from Brampton has been hit with impaired driving charges following a crash in Sudbury last week.

The crash happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 on a stretch of Highway 69 in Sudbury, the OPP says.

When officers from the Sudbury detachment arrived on the scene of the single-vehicle crash police say it was “determined that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage.”

The 49-year-old commercial truck driver from Brampton was arrested and later charged with multiple impaired driving charges and one count of dangerous operation.

The accused was issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Oct. 4.
