An impaired driver was stopped in Oshawa last night with a child in the backseat.

According to Durham Regional Police, they got a 911 call around 9 p.m. on Feb 12 to report an impaired driver. When officers caught up to the driver they found her near Simcoe St. and the westbound entry to Hwy. 401.

Once the officers pulled the woman over, they found a toddler in the back who was not in a car seat. There was an open container of alcohol within the child’s reach.

The driver, a 35-year-old Oshawa woman, was charged with impaired driving and failure to secure a toddler.
