Illegal handgun found during traffic stop in Brampton

Two people from Brampton and one from Mississauga face several charges after a gun was found by police during a traffic stop.

Peel Regional Police officers say they pulled over a vehicle in the area of Stokes Road and Vivians Crescent in Brampton on June 7.

During their investigation, officers located a loaded 9 mm handgun and arrested the occupants.

Zachari Laurin, 32, of Brampton; Tyson Graham, 32, of Mississauga; and Jeigh Ames, 33, of Brampton have been charged with the following offences:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
• Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
• Careless storage of a firearm

In addition, Laurin and Ames were charged with:

• Possession of a firearm contrary to order

All three individuals were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
