Illegal drugs, taser seized from St. Catharines man during arrest

A St. Catharines man has been charged with holding illegal drugs and a taser after Niagara Police raided his apartment yesterday (August 23).
The police started investigating the case earlier this month before getting a warrant to raid an apartment on Page St. near Cross St., in which they found 492 grams of suspected fentanyl, 400 suspected hydromorphone pills, 3.9 grams of suspected cocaine, and one taser.
They also found $210 of suspected crime cash.
Kory James Edwin Johnsen, 38, of St. Catharines has been charged with three counts of illegal drugs for trafficking, possession of a prohibited device (taser), and possession of crime cash under $5,000.
Johnsen remains in police custody, scheduled for a bail hearing later today (August 24) via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.
