After a series of search warrants spanning three years, the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (S.E.B) in Mississauga apprehended and charged two men yesterday for drug-related offences involving a cannabis dispensary.

Earlier this month (August 2023) investigators from the S.E.B. looked into an illicit and unlicensed cannabis dispensary located in the area of Dundas and Hurontario St.

On Friday (Aug. 25) shortly before 12 p.m., officers say they collaborated with the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (S.T.E.P.) team and executed a Cannabis Act search warrant on the illicit premises.

According to police, as a result of the search warrant, various properties were seized including: drugs, drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, televisions, and a black handgun (BB gun).

Dennis Arenburg, 42, from Mississauga is charged with possession for the purpose of distribution and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.

Hong Anh Vu, 28, from Toronto is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession for the purpose of distribution, and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.

Both the accused were released on an undertaking to appear at a Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

Police say the establishment demonstrated a clear disregard for law enforcement, as there have been eight search warrants executed between January 2019 and December 2022, in addition to numerous service calls.

Investigators say the City of Mississauga worked collaboratively with police and the S.E.B team to establish an enhanced physical barrier to prohibit entrance inside.
