Illegal activity reported at Pickering Casino, Mississauga and Brampton residents charged

A report of illegal activity at Pickering Casino Resort has led to arrests of people from Mississauga, Brampton and Scarborough.

The arrests came after the OPP and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) received reports of illegal activity happening at the Pickering Casino Resort, 888 Durham Live Ave., OPP said in a press release today (Aug. 16).

On Aug. 3, police got a tip that a table games dealer was in collusion with patrons at Pickering Casino Resort, OPP said.

Four people face charges.

Sandeep Sogi, 24, of Scarborough is charged with criminal breach of trust, four counts of cheat at play, and four counts of fraud over $5,000.

Sukhvir Singh, 28, of Mississauga, and Brampton residents Deepak Kakkar, 30, and Anchhu Kumar, 24, are charged with four counts of cheat at play, four counts of fraud over $5,000, and four counts of possession property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The four people have all been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa at later dates.

The investigation is ongoing.
