Identity of injured Hamilton scooter driver remains a mystery

Hamilton Police are trying to identify a man who was injured in a traffic collision early this morning (July 23).

Police say the man, who was driving an electric scooter, was involved in crash with a Honda Civic on Upper Kenilworth Ave. near Landron Ave. at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The 20-year-old driver of the Honda Civic remained on the scene and contacted emergency services.

The person riding the scooter sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to hospital by the Hamilton Paramedic Service (HPS).

The police Collision Reconstruction Unit was contacted due to the severity of injuries sustained and continues to investigate the collision.

The identity of the man riding the scooter is unknown at this time. He is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, approximately 160 lbs, with a white bandana on his head.

The scooter is described as a black Gyrocopters brand with red detailing.
