Iconic luxury Toronto hotel named one of the best in Canada

A Toronto hotel has just been named one of the best in Canada.

Travel + Leisure — one of the world’s foremost travel publications — recently released a list showcasing Canada’s must-see hotel locations in major cities.

The publication is a major authority on extravagance, as they have been covering city attractions, hotels, national parks, cruises, and even safaris all over the world for over 50 years.

When stacking up the best of the great white north’s urban luxury lodgings, there was some stiff competition, but the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto made the top 10 list in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2026.

Located in the heart of Yorkville near Bloor St and Bay St, the hotel has been a beacon of opulence in Toronto’s swankiest neighbourhood since 2012, when it originally opened.

More than 661,000 votes were cast for the awards run, strictly based on a rubric of “exceptional service that turns inquisitive travellers into return guests,” according to Travel + Leisure’s website.

Other major players that made the list included the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, and the Hotel William Gray in Montreal.

While the list remained overflowing with opulence, the Toronto Four Seasons Hotel remained the only location in the city that made the cut — placing ninth — with the bulk of the list being dominated by high-end hotels in cities across both Quebec and British Columbia.

As for who took home first place, the iconic Fairmont Empress, which has been dominating the harbour in Victoria, B.C. for over 100 years, took the crown as the best hotel in Canada tucked away in a major city.
