Hydro pole down after a crash at a busy Mississauga intersection

A vehicle knocked down a hydro pole at a busy Mississauga intersection this morning.

The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. today (Aug. 28) at Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road in the City Centre, Peel Regional Police said in a tweet.

A pole is down and wires are on the roadway, police said.

There was no further information on the number of vehicles involved or injuries.

Police said the intersection will be closed for an unknown amount of time.

Police advised drivers to use alternate routes.
