Construction crews have broken ground on a pair of new highrise towers that will bring hundreds of new condominiums to Brampton.

The new condominium community is called DUO Condos, and will see two highrises built at the centre of a planned 2.6-acre community at the corner of Steeles Ave. and Malta Ave.

With over 800 units connected by an outdoor Euro-inspired piazza and courtyard, the development will have amenities like a rooftop terrace, outdoor lounge with BBQs and dining area, party rooms, a fitness centre and a co-working hub.

This new, transit-oriented community is minutes away from the Brampton Gateway Terminal and the upcoming Hazel McCallion LRT, which will connect Brampton residents to Mississauga with stops on the way to the Port Credit GO Station.

Developers National Homes and Brixen Developments Inc. say the “forward-thinking” project is in line with the City’s Brampton 2040 Vision and is focused on transit and accessibility, connecting residents to nearby Shoppers World, Sheridan College, transit options, grocery stores and more.

“DUO Condos will be a model for thoughtful communities, offering much needed housing options and amenities that cater to the evolving demographics of the city,” said Andrew Iacobelli, co-founder of Brixen Developments Inc.

Plans for the first tower include studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus flex space, two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus den condos starting from the $400,000s.
