Man faces human trafficking charges in Mississauga and Brampton.

An Ajax man has been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation in Mississauga and Brampton in which a girl was forced to do things against her will.

Peel Regional Police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon they believe there could be additional victims, most likely in the GTA.

Police haven’t released any more information related to the investigation, saying only the charges were laid by Vice and Human Trafficking Unit officers ” in relation to procuring and exercising control over a female under 18 years old.”

In a follow-up email to insauga.com, a police spokesperson said the alleged trafficking activity is believed to have taken place between late 2023 and this month “throughout Peel.”

Daquan Grant, 23, of Ajax, was arrested on March 13. He’s charged with procuring under 18 and exercise control persons under 18 years old.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared in Brampton court.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the GTA. They’re urging anyone with information to contact them at 905-453-2121, ext. 3555, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
