Although not everyone is a fan of scorching hot weather, few can deny that this has–so far, at least–been a beautiful summer full of ideal festival weather.

And fortunately for fans of partying outdoors, another major festival is set to hit Celebration Square this week.

Fans of the annual #BollywoodMonster Mashup (now in its eighth year) likely know that the festival’s season is already underway, having kicked off with the #BollywoodMonster Teaser Party on July 6 at the FLY Nightclub.

Naturally, the celebrations–part and parcel of the largest South Asian festival in all of Canada–are set to continue with the #BollywoodMonster Family Day and finale on July 21, #BollywoodMonster concert on July 20 and the invite-only #BollywoodMonster VIP & Media Cocktail Reception on July 19.

Organizers say Aaman Trikha will headline the #BollywoodMonster Finale, which kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Celebration Square.

As most Bollywood fans know, Trikha is known as the voice of Akshay Kumar in Hookah Bar (Khiladi 786) and Salman Khan in Prem Leela (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo).

The #BollywoodMonster Orchestra will also return to the festival, playing top 40 hits from pop artists such as George Michael, Black Eyed Peas, and Gloria Estefan, mashed up with Bollywood hits from films such as Ram Balram, Don and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

Singer, songwriter and composer Himmy and the Bollywood Rock Band, dance duo Giggle Queens, and dance group Shiamak Showkids will also take the stage throughout the evening.

Families can check out the #BollywoodMonster Family Day festivities, which will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on July 21. The event will include a free KidZone with both physical activities and crafts.

Organizers say that kids can also partake in other activities, such as free games provided by #MonsterArts for Youth and the Vaarso Foundation (who organizers say will be on hand teaching kids how to make their own board games).

Attendees will also be able to take dance lessons provided by Shiamak Toronto and Tricube Dance, shop, and view chef demos by Rachel Bies, Dilshad Burman and Nancy Majoulian.

There will be musical and dance performances throughout the day, including performances by internationally-renowned Sufi and Indian classical singer Anandita Basu, original dance and poetry collaboration Triple Goddess and the Shiamak Summer Funk Winners.

Organizers says Khushboo Grewal, voice of Sunny Leone in Pink Lips (Hate Story 2) and actor from Punjabi films like Carry on Jatta and Bhaji in Problem, will perform for the first time in Canada at the #BollywoodMonster Concert.

The concert will kick off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20 on stage at Celebration Square.

Other performers will include musical duo Peace & Love, and Toronto group Pushpinder’s Desi Muziko Band.

Attendees will also be able to check out a free evening concert, free film festival, and a “monstrous” food festival

“We’re so excited to bring a wide variety of exceptional acts to Mississauga Celebration Square on July 20 and 21 all for free! Make sure to take note that the start time on Saturday July 21 is at 2 PM to enjoy all of the fun we have planned for kids and their families,” says Executive Director of MonstrARTity, Vikas Kohli.
