Hang onto the winter coats but next week in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and the rest of the region, you might be able to set aside the toques and gloves for brisk walks on a few days.

This weekend sees the beginning of a huge weather swing upwards, according to Environment Canada, as the cold of this week shifts to unseasonably warm stretches of +5C and +6C for the highs.

It will all start on Sunday, Feb. 5 when the weather swings up to 5C, far above the average -0.7C temperature for that day.

Monday will see a small drop to 3C but then it’s right back up to 5C on Tuesday, more than five degrees above the average.

It will all peak on Thursday, Feb. 9 with a very unseasonable temperature of 6C.

As you can see below, a few of those days see a chance of either rain or flurries.
