A popular free music festival is returning to celebrate all things jazz in Brampton.

On Sept. 9 and 10, The World of Jazz Festival will feature live performances at various locations in the city’s downtown core, including Gage Park, Gallery 35, and Long & McQuade, as well as several restaurants and cafes in the area.

There will be over 100 musicians and 17 ensembles, including local Brampton artists, according to the event organizers.

Additionally, the performances are free to attend.

The festival is run by B-Jazzed, a local non-profit founded in 2017 which has run hundreds of events over the years.

“The World of Jazz Festival extends an opportunity for local students, hobbyists, and professional musicians to perform across its various stages, and has featured Canadian and international jazz luminaries, such as Michael Kaeshammer, and the Count Basie Orchestra,” says B-Jazzed.

The festival is supported by over 20 sponsors as well as a grant from the city.

More info is available at the festival’s website.
