A huge fire has closed roads at the Toronto and Mississauga border near Pearson Airport.

Fire crews responded to the “large working fire” at a commercial building at Disco Road and Carlingview Drive in Etobicoke, just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Toronto Police said.

More than 100 firefighters were at the scene of the overnight blaze, which broke out at a waste management facility, Toronto Fire said.

The private facility is a transfer station for construction waste and other materials, Toronto Fire Deputy Chief Steven Darling told reporters in an update.

The fire was under control by around 2 a.m., but crews are expected to remain on scene throughout the day on Thursday, the fire department added.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The Ministry of Environment and Toronto Emergency Management have been notified, according to news reports. There are concerns about runoff into the nearby Mimico Creek.

There is no word on a cause yet.

Roads closed due to the blaze included Atwell Drive at Carlingview Drive, Atwell Drive and Disco Road, Zahavy Way at Goreway Drive, and Disco Road at Carlingview Drive, police said.

Police said drivers should expect delays in the area and advised people to consider alternate routes.
