Series of events coming to The Food District in Square One in Mississauga

If you plan on tying the knot soon–or just want another reason to spend some time in The Food District in Square One–you might be happy to hear that a two-week wedding series is coming to the new food hotspot soon. 

The Square One and Weddingbells Wedding Series will run for two weeks and offer interactive workshops and panel discussions to help future brides and grooms make the most of their big day. 

The workshops will kick off later this month and run until April.

“From DIY floral design to lively discussions with world-class wedding gurus, there’s something for every element of the planning process,” Square One’s website reads.

March 23 | 10 AM  – 12 PM | 1 PM – 3 PM | $65

Stephanie of Little Rose Cookie Co. (which just opened its first brick and mortar location in Streetsville) will teach her first wedding-themed cookie decorating class. In this workshop, students can expect to create a set of beautiful bridal-themed cookies.

Each guest will get to learn to decorate six different cookie designs, perfect for pre and post-wedding celebrations.

Wedding Planning With The Prof

You can enjoy some snacks and drinks during this panel discussion, which will be moderated by Weddingbells editor-in-chief Alison McGill. McGill will be joined by some of the best-in-the-business, including Caspar Haydar, Christopher Paunil, Sheri Stroh, Jason Lee, and Alexandra Lai. 

Eat, Drink, and Get Married! 

March 26 | 7 PM  – 8 PM | $24

This event, held at The Wine Shop and Tasting Room, will teach you how to select wine pairings to match your wedding menu, the right amount of wine to order for the number of guests attending, and how to create signature wine cocktails for your big day.

DIY Floral Wedding Design

March 28 | 1 PM  – 2:30 PM | $65

Blossom Moments will teach you how you can put together the perfect floral arrangements and save money.

Truffle Making 101

March 30 | 7 PM  – 9 PM | $55

Guests can join Purdys master chocolate connoisseur Peter Blanchet in this hands-on workshop to learn how to craft a take-home batch of 21 chocolate truffles, which retails at over $35.

Celebration Cakes

March 31 | 11 AM  – 1:30 PM | $115

Learn how to make your own buttercream to fill and layer a cake with a number of buttercream techniques perfect for any celebration.

Resin Art

April 5 | 10:30 AM – 1 PM | $100

Square One is wrapping up the two-week wedding series with a creative experience where you’ll learn all about resin art from Carli D. From start to finish, you will have an opportunity to create your very own resin pieces–perfect for beginners.
